9 December: MINT'talk «What Software Quality Has to Do with Baking Bread»

Bakers used to knead every dough by hand. Today, bread runs on a production line. One person monitors it and controls quality through temperature and dough moisture, long before the bread comes out of the oven. This principle is known as Quality by Design.

In software development, AI now writes a growing share of the code. But that alone doesn’t make the software better. How can quality be ensured when the code comes from a machine?

That is the topic of this MINT’talk. Alessandro Sebaste shows how Quality by Design can be applied to software development: quality is not tested at the end, but defined from the start and controlled throughout the process. He explains what this means for AI-generated code and which questions you can ask your software supplier about quality.

You will also try the approach yourself: In two mini-workshops, you will work together on a quality profile and a risk analysis. The closing discussion and the apéro afterwards leave time to continue the conversation.

Who is the MINT’talk for?

The talk is aimed at executives and project managers who buy software or steer projects, as well as engineers who develop with AI.
