LLM unplugged: Understand, run, and use AI with your own knowledge.
Instead of simply using AI through a cloud service, we’ll take a look at what’s behind it – and build our own AI assistant. In a roughly two-hour workshop, you’ll install a local AI without any programming, give it your own knowledge, and build a personal assistant that runs directly on your laptop. Your data stays entirely with you.
Why digital sovereignty matters for AI
Many organizations want to use AI – but not at any cost. Data protection, professional confidentiality, compliance requirements, or dependency on individual providers: for many, the biggest hurdle to adopting AI isn’t the technology itself, but the question of who retains control over data and technology.
Digital sovereignty means more than data protection. If you run AI locally, you decide where it runs, how it’s used, and what happens to your own data. That turns the black box into a technology you can understand, control, and use yourself.

Who it’s for
For anyone who wants to understand local AI and try it out hands-on – from IT, public administration, law, fiduciary services, communications, project management, or other fields. No programming skills or prior knowledge required.
What you’ll need
Laptop: A capable laptop with approx. 16 GB RAM and 512 GB of free storage. The workshop works for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Depending on your hardware and operating system, different local AI solutions may be used. Smartphone: optional, ideally no more than 3–4 years old.

About this event
Glue is hosting this MINT’special as a neutral professional event – not a product presentation. The workshop doesn’t center on any particular tool. Depending on your hardware and operating system, you’ll try out different local AI solutions, e.g. Apertus or Gemma. What matters isn’t the individual model, but understanding how local AI works and what you can practically do with it.
You don’t need any programming skills – just three hours.
By the end, you’ll have built your own AI assistant – running locally on your device and trained on your own knowledge.
